Mute Audio; MLC

The media controller enables the instructor to mute all audio regardless of device being used.
1. On the media controller,the Audio Mute button. This will silence the audio from the sound system and the audio level light will blink.
2. Press the Audio Mute button again to return the audio to its normal state.

The Smart protocol for classroom technology is designed to make using computer, video, CD, and DVD playing as easy as possible. Basic instructions
The MediaLink controller on top of the podium should be used to turn the projector on and off, select input sources, and set volume. You can also blank the image with the "pic mute" button and the sound with the "audio mute" button.

To turn the projector On or OFF
Use the Display ON and OFF buttons on the MediaLink. The projector takes 30 seconds to warm up (The button will flash while the projector is warming up or cooling down. Please do not press other buttons during this time).

To view the built-in Mac
With the projector on, press the PC button on the MediaLink. Note that the volume is controlled only by the knob on the media controller if using Mac OS (in Windows mode, the computer volume setting is active also).
The computer can be booted into either Mac OS or Winows, to change restart the computer whilel holding down the option key on the keyboard.

To view a laptop
If your computer has a HDMI port: plug in the HDMI cable on top of the podium and press the "Laptop HDMI" button on the media controller. In most cases it should not be necessary to connect the "mini" sound cable, the sound should work via the HDMI connection.
Otherwise: connect the VGA cable located on top of the podium to the laptop VGA jack. If using sound, connect the "mini" sound plug provided to the laptop headphone jack. With the projector ON, press the Laptop VGA" button on the MediaLink.You may need to press a function key on your laptop to enable the external monitor function (may be marked "LCD/CRT" or with a monitor icon).

To Play & View a DVD or CD
With the projector on, press the DVD button on the Media Link.This unit will play DVDs from all regions of the world. Use the Samsung remote to control the DVD player.

To View the Document Camera (Visual Presenter):
With the projector on, press the "Doc Cam" button on the MediaLink.  This unit may also be used as a camera for Skype or similar applications.

To View Campus Cable TV: With the projector on, press the "Cable TV"  button on the MediaLink. Use the iView remote control to select channel.

To control sound volume
Use the Volume control on the MediaLink.
